Williamsburg Apple Cream Cheese Torte
From the kitchen of Virginia Apples.
A very quick and easy recipe that is delicious.
Ingredients
- Crust:
- 1 ½ sticks butter or margarine, softened
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- ½ tsp. vanilla
- 1 ½ cups flour
- Filling:
- 12 oz. cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. lemon rind
Instructions
Topping:
1 qt. baking apples, peeled and sliced
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
14 tsp. nutmeg
For crust, cream butter and sugar; add vanilla and flour; pat onto bottom and up 1" sides of 9" springform pan.
For filling, combine all ingredients and spread over crust.
For topping, combine ingredients and arrange mixture on top of cheese mixture. Sprinkle with 6 tbs. slivered almonds.
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 mins. Reduce heat to 400 and bake 25 mins. more; cool completely
