Pizza Sauce

South Beach Diet phase 2. Serves 4 (see Whole Wheat Pizza Crust)
Ingredients
- 2 tbs. olive oil
- 1 2-lb. can whole Italian peeled tomatoes
- ¾ tsp. oregano
- 1 ½ tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
Instructions
- Pour olive oil in skillet over med. heat.
- Using hands, squeeze tomatoes to crush them.
- Add to warm oil, with remaining ingredients.
- Cook over medium-low heat, breaking up tomatoes, until sauce is thick…40-60 min.
- Pass through colander to remove seeds.
